JET has secured the HVAC contract for the new Exel Logistics warehouse which is located in Banbury alongside the M40. JET is providing an air induction system for the facility which is comprised of two key areas – a fully racked area and the loading dock – and is managed by Prologis.
The main criteria for the design were the requirement for heating to 15oC in the winter and ventilation of up to 0.5ach-1 in the summer to limit the internal temperature of the building. The system layout was determined by the ESFR sprinkler system with ductwork sized and positioned so as to not affect the performance of this system.
The building will be served by a single air handling unit situated external to the building on a purpose-built slab. Due to planning issues the AHU had to be supplied in a colour to match the warehouse cladding.
